This week I worked briefly in Audacity importing and splicing audio clips. I chose an episode of the All Things Grinnell podcast where a band of two alums were interviewed. I recognized the band name because they used to be pretty involved with the Grinnell Area Arts Council, where I interned over the summer.
I downloaded the mp3 file and imported it into Audacity without any hassle. Clipping the audio was a little different than I expected, but I figure it out. The interface of Audacity looks pretty old so that took some getting used to. I was also able to speed up the clip and then saved it as my project.
I hope to do more with Audacity because I have been interested in trying to make podcasts and this would be a good tool to use.
