It’s very comforting to read something that acknowledges that people don’t know everything and never will. In digital things, and many others, it’s hard to feel like you’re qualified if you don’t know how to do everything. Having the strategy of just pretending to know what you’re doing while learning along the way seems much more feasible. It’s a much better way to learn too because you can actually see how much you know and truly test yourself in that way before relying on help.

So far, Omeka has been fairly intuitive. I haven’t explored it as in-depth as I want to because it’s a bit of a crazy busy time. I saw an Omeka site someone built last semester and it looked incredible, so I’m excited to see what I can make with this tool. Nothing was all that difficult in the tutorial, but I haven’t tried any further customization of exhibits.
